The 3rd International Conference on Mechanical Design and Smart Manufacturing (MDSM2023) was successfully held on August 25, 2023. MDSM2023 aims to serve as a platform for scientists, researchers, engineers and developers from a wide range of mechanical design and smart manufacturing to exchange ideas and applications. This conference provides opportunities for the delegates to identify new issues, to shape future directions for research, to establish business or research relations and to find global partners for future collaboration.
 


 

At the beginning of the conference, Professor Ljiljana Trajković, from Simon Fraser University, Canada, General Chair of the conference, delivered the opening speech, welcoming the scholars from home and abroad to share their research, and thanking all the experts and scholars who provided support and help to the conference, including General Co-chair, all members of the Academic Committee, reviewers, volunteers, and the keynote speakers and so on.
 


 

During the keynote speeches, Professor Simon X. Yang from University of Guelph, Canada, delivered a speech on Bio-inspired Real-time Intelligent Motion Planninc and Control of Autonomnous Underwater.
 


 

Associate professor Hongliang Ren from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, China, delivered a keynote speech on DSurgical motion generation and perception towards intelligent minimally invasive robotic procedures.
 


 

Professor Duc Truong Pham from University of Birmingham, England, delivered the keynote speech on Research into robotised disassembly for remanufacturing.
 


 

After the excellent keynote speeches, there were the oral sessions, some scholars presented their latest research results and exchanged views with the participating scholars on cutting-edge hot issues, showed their research results, and shared their learning and research experiences.
 


 

The International Conference on Mechanical Design and Smart Manufacturing will continue to provide a high-level exchange and cooperation platform for experts, scholars and enterprise researchers engaged in related research, and further promote the development of science and technology innovation of mechanical design and smart manufacturing!
